Separated at birth.

Three years ago today . . .

. . . 18 years ago this September.

Seriously, if you can look at that top photo and not feel utter despair at the fact that such an outrageously contrived, witheringly cynical photo op could have ever been considered noble or admirable in this country, seek help. Please.

The difference in the photos is that Dukakis actually served on active duty in the military and showed up when he was supposed to,,,,

Who's saying it's noble or admirable?

In comparison, when placed along side any photo of Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, or John Kerry, it looks pretty damn good!

At least Bush was actually a fighter pilot. Dukasis' Army career lasted less than two years, most of which was spent in a UN delegation in Korea.

Bush was sort of a fighter pilot, and he ducked out before his hitch ended.

Oh, you mean the guys who actually served in combat (or in Clinton's case, submitted to the draft) rather than allowing their rich, powerful Daddy to get them into the Champagne Brigade?

Well, there's no accounting for tastes.

Dukakis did 2 years, and granted was assigned to a UN delegation. In Korea. Now granted, guarding folks in and around the DMZ is no where near as dangerous as going on a beer run in Alabama,,,,
