We wanted to get UGa to swap the schedule (i.e - @Athens in odd years, not even) and were willing to use one neutral site game to do that. That would have royally screwed up UGa's scheduling.

The idea would have been to make the schedule this:

2011 - Dome
2012 - GT
2013 - Athens

That would have been entirely to GT's benefit (our schedule is really screwed up due to ACC expansion) and entirely to UGa's detriment. Richt knows, though, that his team is underachieving and he seems pretty fristrated by it. His whole comment on the call-in show where he said that people wanted blood and for people to be fired, and then followed that up with a "and maybe that's what needs to happen, but right now we're focusing on Vandy" seemed like a apt prediction that he was going to have to re-evaluate his staff and cut some of them out at the end of the season.

That being said, I don't want Richt to be Rex Ryan. Richt handles the press in a very savvy way, and at least has a heck of a winning record and some championships to back up his coach-speak while Ryan, as a head coach, doesn't have any of that.

UGA football is being held to a higher standard. If we don't perform, then changes will inevitably be made. I jsut hope they happen in a way that is just, and doesn't lead us into a temporary recruiting nightmare.Universal Remonsterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01912161242735374190noreply@blogger.com
