We have yet to win a close game. Period. There are no more moral victories to be won at Florida. We used them all up long ago. There are no more encouraging signs to be deciphered. We must beat Florida. It's that simple. Love Mark Richt. I genuinely believe there is no finer coach in the land. I hope he is with us for many, many years to come. But we've been on a downward trend for a couple of years and he can't beat Florida. This is the SEC. If Richt can't right the ship next year he'll be unemployed. I hate to say that, but it is what it is.Paulhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09749726799874963940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11250715.post-61269374348574891392010-11-02T09:45:14.917-04:002010-11-02T09:45:14.917-04:00When you say "a year off" - you didn'...When you say "a year off" - you didn't actually attend this game, right?Lucid Idiocyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10944213596158450338noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11250715.post-35692079795184609062010-11-01T16:08:42.023-04:002010-11-01T16:08:42.023-04:00Lucy and the football is, of course, a true evergr...Lucy and the football is, of course, a true evergreen, but I was a little disappointed when you didn't go with "I got a rock."Will Collierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15125312209711458722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11250715.post-2727470101115369602010-11-01T15:38:10.401-04:002010-11-01T15:38:10.401-04:00The bitch move has worked out pretty well for Aubu...The bitch move has worked out pretty well for Auburn.

Before 1989: 15-26 at 'neutral' Legion Field with a 50/50 ticket split

Since 1989:
7-3 in Auburn
4-1 in Tuscaloosa
0-6 at Legion Field (re: ticket splits- 5 were Bama home games, 1991 was an Auburn 'home' game)

{yes, I realize different factors in the 2 rivalries prevent it being a truly apples to apples comparison, nor do I think the venue is the sole or even primary reason for 3-18, but the Iron Bowl at Legion Field was just similar enough to the WLOCP to make it an interesting case study).

BTW, here is a great article about the Iron Bowl move, reasons, motivations, reactions, etc. Worth the time: http://tinyurl.com/28hvmf6Kanuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02959256951835399304noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11250715.post-70702817578064392712010-11-01T11:26:40.713-04:002010-11-01T11:26:40.713-04:00I don't think it's necessarily a "bit...I don't think it's necessarily a "bitch move" to confirm two decades and three national titles after-the-fact that Florida is now a premier college football program and it's probably no longer a good idea for Georgia to play the Gators at the Gator Bowl every single year. If there were no tradition of us playing in Jacksonville every year, would we start one now? I highly doubt it. How about we play Auburn every year in Birmingham or Tennessee in Chattanooga? Didn't think so.Dantehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05469645009950587832noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11250715.post-86477570862194487472010-11-01T11:10:39.671-04:002010-11-01T11:10:39.671-04:00Something tells me you'll have a change of hea...Something tells me you'll have a change of heart before next years game. We always know that it's the game we DON'T watch that ends up biting us.

In 2007 I had scheduled an early show with my band out of general frustration and a gut feeling that we'd shit the bed again. I really, really regret that decision.

Listen... if any ardent fan deserves a day off, it's you. But regardless of how my soul died a little on Saturday, at least it was a hell of a game to watch and at least we looked like we were TRYING. That hasn't been the case the last two years. At least it was left out on the field, and a few mistimed follies left us shaking our heads. But if it comes down to watching the dawgs lay it out on the field and almost scrapping enough to make it a "W", win or lose I'm still proud to be a dawg.Universal Remonsterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01912161242735374190noreply@blogger.com
