Sorry for rambling, but while Hawaii fans may seem unsophisticated and need to act like we've been there before... well we haven't and here's hoping that this is the beginning of better things to come and that Hawaii can join the ranks of the elite. Not an excuse for some blogs I've read... just fact. Hawaii has had to do things differently - offensively, defensively, recruiting, uniforms... in an attempt to shake up the status quo and create a niche for themselves, which any good marketing guru will tell you is the secret to building a solid brand where none existed. This is a great opportunity for Hawaii and I look forward to a well played and exciting game. I think one of the best things I've seen from this Hawaii team which is often overlooked, is the ability to handle adversity. Washington took 21-0 lead in the first quarter, but there was no panic, and by then end of the first half, I think Washington knew they were in for a game, or at least Coach Willingham knew it based on his halftime comments. For three quarters, Hawaii dominated a decent PAC 10 team that had one of the toughest strength of schedules in the nation and outscored them 35-7. I hope Hawaii's learned something from that game and that we bring it from the beginning. Falling behind to the Bulldogs is not the same as falling behind to the Huskies. Moreno will then be able to keep Colt off the field (Brown is good but Moreno is special) and wear down the defense. *Note: Hawaii's quick strike offense means our defense is on the field a lot. The Warrior defense is a bend don't break unit, and while Leonard and Elimimian get the lion's share of the of the attention, take a look a good look at Blaze Soares. Best of luck to the Dawgs. Go Warriors!Shinzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10157147585659933929noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11250715.post-41575984213839109442007-12-24T22:20:00.000-05:002007-12-24T22:20:00.000-05:00Who is the new guy at ESPN that was actually makin...Who is the new guy at ESPN that was actually making sense? I've never seen him.

Also, I think one of the big keys- and maybe bigger than KJ is the DL. Howard, Wynn & Lomax have to have big games. I am sure Hawaii has plenty of 3-step, quick passes, but our DL has to get pressure on Brennan and bat some passes down at the line. I don't care how accurate Brennan is, if we put him on his back then it doesn't matter how good he or his WRs are. The good news is that we became much better at pass rush in the second half of the season when Lomax was healthy and Wynn picked up his game, to compliment Howard.JasonChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09111338546563211179noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11250715.post-6246814347961645992007-12-24T19:19:00.000-05:002007-12-24T19:19:00.000-05:00i like where your head's at on this one doug. New Mexico Bowl.

Hawai'i's fourth-best win is Washington, who finished with 9 losses and, for whatever reason, continual BJs from the ESPN shouting heads to think that just because you've heard of them and they play in a major conference, that means they're totes awesome. Uh, no.

What does all this mean? Georgia 45, Hawai'''''''''''i 24. And May and ESPN and Fox and USA Today will spend the offseason crying in their beers while watching the replay of last year's Fiesta Bowl over and over and over.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11250715.post-30610723507382711812007-12-24T14:06:00.000-05:002007-12-24T14:06:00.000-05:00Nice job, Doug. But, it will be 2008 in a few days,...Nice job, Doug.

But, it will be 2008 in a few days, and you're still typing 2006?

Merry ChristmasAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
